Chandelier Redo in Turquoise Blue

I have been collecting old chandeliers and working on them ever-so-slowly, much to the chagrin of Mr. Rubbish. Sometimes it takes me a while to figure out exactly how I want to fix them up. I have a rather large chandelier that has been in the corner of our living room for a very long time. The good news is that I finally figured out what color to paint it and what accessories to add. That will be a later post, if I ever finish. Who knew that dressing a chandelier could be this difficult?

I found this petite cutie at a garage sale last weekend for $5. It is a vintage, candle chandelier made out of iron. It looked fine black, but I was inspired to paint it turquoise.
First, I scraped off the old candle wax and painted on primer. After the primer I applied two coats of turquoise acrylic paint. One of the other chandelier’s I am working on had a few vintage crystals left on it, so I pulled them off and attached them to this one. I also had some strands of crystals left over from, you guessed it, yet another chandelier, so I attached those also.

This was quite the transformation! It looks like a different chandelier and I just used stuff I had lying around to redo it!

OMGosh, that chandelier is gorgeous. Love the color.

thanks for visiting me over at Pittypat Paperie and leaving the nice comment about my printing on fabric

You asked about the full sheet sticker paper... I bought mine here:

but, you can get Avery full sheet sticker paper at Wal Mart or any office supply store.

I hope this helps.

Lovely. Simple. Beautiful. I am impressed with that re-do! I'm even more amazed you called it a "lustre"! Have you studied french? If not remember, lustre is a chandelier or a fancy frilly crystal lamp or candle holder and chandelier is basically a candle holder. Love your blog!

Having read this I believed it was rather enlightening.
I appreciate you spending some time and effort to put
