Painted Cherub

I picked up this cherub wall hanging at Goodwill for $1. Although it was a gaudy, gold color, it did have potential.

I wanted to make it look kind of like plaster, so I painted it gray and then distressed it by lightly sanding the surface. I painted over the gray with Ralph Lauren glaze in smoke color to add more dimension.

I would like to learn how to make plaster molds because I think this little cherub (and maybe a few other objects I have) would look great in plaster. I guess I can add that to my ever-growing queue of projects.
