On Saturday, while I was out looking for yard sales, I passed a sign for a little thrift shop, advertising a store-wide 50% off sale. I stopped in, to see what I could find, and spotted these fabulous, vintage, caned dining chairs! There was a full set of six chairs and they were priced at ten dollars apiece. With the 50% discount, I got all six chairs for only thirty dollars!
I do not really need another project right now and I was not looking for chairs, but I could not pass up these beauties. They are all in nearly perfect condition and there are no holes in any of the caning!
All they need are new finishes and upholstery. I have to complete a few projects before I can start revamping these chairs, but I am really looking forward to starting their transformation.

OMG! Did you ever score. I was just saying to my daughter the other day I wish I had your old dining room chairs. They were the same as what you bought. Her dh got the chairs in their settlement. BOOHOO!

How timely that I came across this post, Amanda! I just did a post about accent chairs and how I need to concentrate on the projects I have in the line up now - not future projects! What a great deal; I know that even though I try to keep myself in check, if I should come across something that fits my "vision" I'll definitely be buying it. Even if it has to wait its turn! : )

My inherited chairs are very similar right down to the velvet yellow cushions...well before I painted & reupholstered them. The cane has been so brittle which leaves me now trying to decide how to do something different with the backs. GREAT find! {but I can not help but wish the cane was not perfect so i could be inspired with what you would do with them.lol.
Making mine into outdoor dining chairs so a complete makeover is coming their way.
