Aunt Susan's Treasures

Over the long weekend, I had an appointment down in Orange county and while I was there, I stopped by to see my Aunt Susan. Her house and garden are full of beautiful treasures and antiques making her home warm and inviting. Her personality is as lovely as her home, so it is always a wonderful place to visit.

I love how she transformed her Southern California tract home into a magical cottage! I want to share some photos with you that capture Aunt Susan's charming home.

Surrounding her front yard is an adorable, white pickett fence with an entrance through a little gate under an arched trellis.

Front Yard

Her front yard is lushly landscaped and accented with birdbaths and statues. I love the fair maiden in the rose garden and the iron arched trellis coverd in rose vines.

Here is my beautiful Aunt greeting us at her front door. Come on in!

But first, let's take another look at that gorgeous front door! Aunt Susan salvaged it from an old house that was being torn down in Newport Beach. The glass is amazingly beautiful and I love how it opens half-way.

Inside

Inside the house is full of antiques including this gorgeous antique fireplace mantle. I adore the antique mirrored, armoire and little desk and chair too!

backyard
Her backyard is full of citrus trees, flowers, fountains and winding pathways. Aunt Susan laid the brick pathways all by herself! She also built the little cottage in the backyard that is actually a chicken coop. She is a talented lady!

I hope you enjoyed this inspiring tour of Aunt Susan's cottage!

Amanda I see where you get your talent! What a beautiful cottage your Aunt was generous enough to share with us. And that is not easy, to share your home online, but hers is just delightful. I love the garden gate and the lovely archway. Thanks for joining in on my giveaway, you're a doll, xoxo tami

Looks like a B&B! Yes, I see the apple didn't far fall from the tree. You both have an eye for lovely things.

What a lovely home your Aunt Susan has. I agree with others that you share her talent.
As for that gorgeous door, it's called a Dutch Door. My Aunt Rosie had one in her home. I would love to find one for ours someday.
